We are so incredibly sorry for your family’s loss. Garrett was an incredible young man. I was so incredibly proud of the young man that he had become. Even in his short life, he touched everyone he met with kindness and his smile. I will fondly remember him always as my favorite student.

This sentiment was offered to us by Chrisann and Rawlin Herigstad for our recent loss of Jenny Rice.
One or the other must leave,
One or the other must stay.
One or the other must grieve,
This is forever the way.
That is the vow that is sworn,
Faithful 'til death do us part.
Braving what had to be borne,
Hiding the ache in the heart.
One, howsoever adored,
First must be summoned away.
That is the will of the Lord
One or the other must stay.

Bridget, Sarah, and all Garrett’s and the Basta family ( 2 and 4 legged family members) I’m so sorry for your tragic loss of Garrett. I remember him as a child and inheriting his Daddy’s contagious grin and mischievousness. As a Pee wee wrestler he started his matches with a bang and he was such a joy to watch.
The only comfort that I can find at this time with the loss of Garrett on Earth is that he is enjoying his outdoor hunting and fishing activities and shenanigans in the fields of Heaven with his Dad , Mark.
May God watch over you all with Mark and Garrett at the helm of the Angels, ( 2 and 4 legged versions) giving you comfort at this time.

All of Garrett's family and friends,
I am incredibly saddened by the sudden loss of Garrett. He was such a great friend to my sons and he was a ray of sunshine to have around. I do not recall ever seeing him without a smile on his face. Garrett was full of ambition and willing to lend a hand anytime someone was in need. One day while the boys were at our place, they were discussing what they wanted to do. They had options of playing catch outside, playing video games, board games or riding their bikes. Garrett quickly replied with "we can always go fishing." While we reminisce of days past here on earth, may you be catching all the biggest fish in heaven. RIP Sweet Garrett

We are praying for God’s supernatural peace to cover your family. Garrett was one of my favorite students when I taught art at SHS. Always easy going and good hearted. He was funny, too! I have two memories that stand out. One day, I gave everyone wire to make a wire sculpture and Garrett found that if he bent it back and forth really fast it got hot and he could burn his neighbors at his table. I told him I would give him yarn if he did it again. He just gave me a big grin and had a twinkle in his eye. Such a goof! Another time, everyone was really focused on their projects, so much so that no one was even talking. They were just in the zone. I had country music playing in the background and the song, “Blue Ain’t Your Color” by Keith Urban came on. A few kids starting singing it, including Garrett, who was singing it just a little louder than everyone else. He suddenly looked up as I walked by and said, “I really like this song!” with his big grin. To this day, I still think of him when that song comes on. He sure was a great kid and touched a lot of lives. God bless.
