Janice (Jan) Skalicky Enget was born May 25th, 1945 in Powers Lake, North Dakota to Adolph Skalicky and Gloria (Miller) Skalicky. She passed away April 19, 2021 at her second home in Grand Forks at the age of 75.

Jan was raised in the rural Powers Lake and Columbus, North Dakota area and married Dale Enget on September, 27th 1963 at Tonset Lutheran Church near Columbus, ND. To this union, they welcomed three children, Lyne, Torrie and Misty. They lived in Minot initially while Dale finished college, and then Stanley and ultimately their family farm, south of Powers Lake starting in 1977.

In addition to being a faithful farm wife and consummate homemaker, Jan received many years of satisfaction as a teacher’s aide in Powers Lake where she treasured her relationships with both students and her coworkers. She was an avid gardener and looked forward to any opportunity to entertain her friends and family in their colorful potting shed nested in her flower gardens. She loved reading, sewing and all activities with her family members. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Powers Lake.

Jan is survived by her husband, Dale of 57 years; her son, Torrie (Amy) Enget; her daughter, Misty (Gerad) Paul; grandchildren, Chase (Alexis) Enget, Kale Enget, Noah Enget, Georgia Paul, Ella Paul, Greta Paul and Caden Enget; great-grandchild Jaxon Enget; sister, Kathleen (Ru) Drisi; brother, LaVern Allen (Kandee) Skalicky; her sister-in-law, Mary Skalicky; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather; Mick Callesen; her beloved son, Lyne and her brother, Larry Skalicky.
