Vicke Renae Omar
July 19, 1952 - October 28, 2024

Place of Birth: Rugby, North Dakota
Residence: Stanley, North Dakota
Age: 72

Vicke Renae Omar, 72, Stanley, ND passed away October 28, 2024 at her home after a courageous and fearless battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she went to be with her Lord.

Vicke was born on July 19, 1952 in Rugby, ND to Orville and Ragnhild “Tootsie” Johnson. She was the oldest of three daughters and grew up in Tioga, ND, where she attended and graduated high school. She then went on to attend and graduate cosmetology school in Williston, ND, as she had always enjoyed working on creative hairstyles. Vicke was united in marriage to Richard Omar on July, 14, 1972. They were married in Tioga, lived in Minot, ND for a short time and later made their home in Stanley. They were married for 52 years until her passing and raised two beautiful children, Casey and Dana.

Vicke was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed traveling and vacationing “out west” with her family. She worked as a beautician and held various jobs in Stanley, but her favorite job was being a grandma to her grandchildren. She loved decorating and baking for the holidays, and her greatest joy was seeing her grandkids’ faces light up as they walked through the doorway. She never missed a birthday party, and she loved traveling around to various events for her grandchildren. Vicke also loved camping with her family and could never resist a good campfire, especially if it involved roasting marshmallows!

Vicke is survived by her loving husband, Richard; son, Casey (Mary) Omar of Stanley, ND; daughter, Dana (Troy) Johnson of Stanley, ND; sisters, Debra (Rudy) Novak of Tioga, ND, Cynthia (Marlin) Ranum of Stanley, ND; in-laws, Helenann Omar of Chandler AZ, Lilly (Don) Schultz of Plano, TX, Hamed Omar of Tioga, ND, Beverly (Gary) Dennis of Bismarck, ND, Sandra (Wayne) Judkins of Towner, ND; grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Sayaid Omar, Jayde (Austin) Guderjahn, Trystan Johnson, Kyle Trahan, Talon Omar, Danica Johnson; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Vicke was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ragnhild “Tootsie” Johnson; infant brother, Orville Jr. Johnson; and in-laws, Albert and Reda Omar.

Vicke was the rock of her family, and her absence will leave a void that will never be filled. Her positive attitude and strength of character will never be forgotten. Her bright smile and cherished laugh will be missed dearly.

Vicke Renae (Johnson) Omar!
Sorry to hear of Vicke’s passing! Condolences to her family!
She was a wonderful person whom I have admired since I first met her in 1968! We enjoyed many wonderful times together and I have never forgotten them! We attended my 1968 High School prom together and had a wonderful time, with dinner and dancing at the prom! We went our separate ways, until we connected recently! It makes me extremely sad that she lost the fight against Cancer! It is a tough battle and wish I could have done more to help!
I am not able to make her funeral, because of my battle with cancer I take too many pain meds to drive.
Wonderful thoughts of her will live on in my memory as long as I have them.
