Brad E. Bruhn
December 18, 1961 - April 2, 2025

Place of Birth: Stanley, North Dakota
Residence: Palermo, North Dakota
Age: 63

Brad Bruhn, 63, of Palermo, ND, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at his home in Palermo, ND.

Bradley Eugene Bruhn born December 18, 1961 to Lawrence and Darlene Bruhn of Blaisdell, ND. His father Lawrence always said that he was thrilled with his 2nd tax deduction in the same year! Brad attended Palermo Grade School and High School through his junior year in 1979. After the closure of Palermo High School, he opted to attend Willow City High School where he boarded with Oliver and Eva Saude and graduated in 1980.

He married Karen Engh on June 6, 1987 and together they had two children; son Ryder in 1990 and daughter Layton in 1995. Brad and Karen later divorced. Brad was a patient parent and disciplined with explanation.

Brad battled his own demons over the years but managed to get and stay sober for the last 15 years.

Brad worked for the family business Red’s Drywall for the majority of his life and on the family farm. He continued to do Drywall and projects on the side for people until his death. He also maintained the family mobile home park located in Palermo from 2013 to present.

In his early years, Brad enjoyed drawing, dancing, making model cars. Brad loved to tinker with anything. He could make anything work with anything he had laying around. He was like our own MacGyver. He enjoyed building things for and with his grandson Dominic, and great nephews Trenton and Waylon. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. Brad built his father his very own oil pumper with electric motor and a huge custom barn for Dominic's toy farm.

You could often find him at estate sales or auctions as he recently found a love for old snowmobiles to restore them. He loved to find a great deal on random older things, like the metal lathe from 1940 that he drove over 8 hours one way to pick up, and was very proud to show how it worked. Brad was very good at keeping busy from helping others or doing his lifelong job of drywall. Brad loved his family more than anything. He gave his all to everyone even when he didn’t have it to give. A man with a quiet heart of gold.

Brad took grandpa duty very seriously. He'd let Dominic get away with ice cream for dinner or buying him pet ducks. His kids never knew that type of luxury! He was very determined to make success with his YouTube channel "Bradz badz goodyz" that he posted on regularly about his current projects. Most recent was on the custom-made snow plow he built for Dominic's four-wheeler.

Brad is survived by his daughter, Layton (Coty Groves) and grandson, Dominic of Tioga; son, Ryder of Minot; mother, Darlene Bruhn of Minot; sister, LaRinda Bruhn of Minot; brothers, Greg (Muriel) Bruhn and Jerimey (Nichol) Bruhn of Blaisdell, and Jeff Bruhn of Rock Lake; 15 nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Lawrence Bruhn; sister-in-law, Debbie Lee; maternal grandparents, Ray and Dollie Lindberg; and paternal grandparents, Harry and Rose Bruhn.
